(SBU) On December 15 emboff delivered reftel demarche to
Faruque Faquira, head of the Directorate of International
Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In
response, Faquira stated that he took note of the USG
position and would call the matter to the attention of the
Mozambican mission to the United Nations. He had no further
comment Post expects that Mozambique will abstain in the
UNGA votes, as is its custom for votes on human rights issues.
