1. The GOC has responded in the affirmative to reftel request. On
May 15, 2007, Embassy received diplomatic note No. 2276/07 relaying
Croatia's support for the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear
Terrorism.

2. Text of the note follows: (complimentary opening) The Republic
of Croatia considers efforts and activities aimed at preventing the
weapons of mass destruction proliferations crucial in the fight
against contemporary security threats, and in particular the threat
of terrorism. For that reason the Republic of Croatia is a state
party to and active participant in all the major international
treaties and conventions relating to the non proliferation of
weapons of mass destruction.

3. The Republic of Croatia believes that initiatives such as the
Proliferation Security Initiative and Global Initiative to Combat
Nuclear Terrorism are a dynamic and active approach to the global
proliferation problem. They improve the network of partner states
working together in order to fight WMD proliferation.
