On 25 July 2007, Post followed up with MIREX about the
Embassy's May 30 2007 Diplomatic Note Number 77. requesting
clearance for Marine Research Vessel Knorr. Embassy shared
with MIREX America's Department Counselor Vicente Muanda a
copy of the 1996 Bilateral Economic, Technical and Related
Assistance Agreement. Post explained that the Knorr's
activity in Angolan territorial waters would consist of
taking water samples to measure concentrations of dissolved
minerals and assess their influence on marine biology.
Muanda said he would look into the matter.
