1, On August 8, PolOff met with Montserrat Vargas Solorzano,
Director of the United Nations organizations desk at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and with Guisella Sanchez
Castillo, of the Multilateral Policy Section of the FMA and
conveyed reftel information. They were provided with
information on Mr. Carr's background as well.

2. It was their response that the GOCR would support Mr.
Carr's membership on the Standing Commission.
