1. Embassy received MFAT diplomatic note number JPK 693/2007
dated August 25 confirming the Sultan's acceptance of the
President's invitation to the September 7 luncheon for ASEAN
leaders attending the APEC Leaders Meeting in Sydney,
Australia. Text of the diplomatic note reads as follows:

Complimentary opening...and has the honour to refer to the
latter's note No. 07-97 of 23rd August 2007 regarding the
invitation for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam to attend a luncheon hosted by President
George W. Bush in honour of ASEAN leaders attending the
forthcoming APEC Leaders Meeting in Sydney, Australia on 7th
September 2007 at Intercontinental Hotel, Sydney from 12:35
pm to 2:05 pm.

The Ministry has the further honour to inform the Embassy
that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei
Darussalam has accepted the invitation and will attend the
said luncheon.
