(U) U.S. Embassy Manila received from the Philippine
Department of Foreign Affairs August 23 a diplomatic note
requesting support for Dr. Raquel Fortun's candidacy for the
Committee Against Torture. Elections will be held in Geneva
in October 2007. A scanned copy of the diplomatic note and
supporting documents will be emailed and faxed to EAP/MTS and
will be pouched to EAP/MTS in pouch number 5863911.
