1. (U) Pol Chief discussed reftel points with the Icelandic MFA's
Minister-Counsellor for International Organization Affairs Nikulas
Hannigan on September 19. Hannigan was appreciative of the briefing
but noted that Iceland's Minister for Foreign Affairs will have
departed the U.S. prior to the October 1 ministerial. (Note:
Iceland's parliament convenes on October 1. End note.)

2. (U) Hannigan added that Iceland's UN Mission will follow up on
Community of Democracies issues on the margins of UNGA. The MFA is
strongly interested in the November ministerial.
