(U) On September 4, PolOff delivered reftel demarche to the Director
General of the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority, Abu Bakr Gaafar
Ahmed, requesting Sudanese support for the U.S. re-election to the
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in membership
category Part I. Ahmed stated that he would consider this request.
He added that he will be representing Sudan in Montreal at the
upcoming ICAO Assembly.
