1. EconOffs met Wilfredo Borja, Officer-in-Charge of the Air
Transportation Office, Department of Transportation and
Communication on October 26, 2007, and delivered the letter and
summary report transmitted reftel. EconOffs requested that ATO host
final discussions with FAA in Manila during the week of November 26.
ATO agreed to hold discussions, and will propose specific dates
within that week after consulting other local participants. Post
will report the dates as soon as we receive them early next week.
2. EconCouns has scheduled meetings with the Secretary of
Transportation and Communication and officials of the Department of
Foreign Affairs for early next week to discuss the ramifications of
FAA's summary report.
