1. Unauthorized disclosure of the information provided
below is prohibited by Section 12C of the Export
Administration Act.

2. Reftel 1 requested a Post-shipment verification to
determine the legitimacy and reliability of the end-
user, Romona Inc., Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia. The
company is listed on BIS license application D357847
as the ultimate consignee of an optically pumped
magnetometer, model G-882. These items are controlled
for national security and anti-terrorism reasons under
ECCN 6A006. The licensee is Geometrics Inc., 2190
Fortune Drive, San Jose, CA 95131.

3. On November 29, 2007, Export Control Attache Peter
Liston and FSN Natalya Shipitsina conducted the
requested post-shipment verification with Romona Inc.,
426 Mira Avenue, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia. The export
control team met with Boris Kornoukhov, General
Director, Sergey Aloykhin, Financial Director and
Vladimir Tarasov, Head of Survey Department.

4. Romona was established in Sakalin, Russia in 1991
as an independent company specializing in offshore and
onshore survey, navigation, and positioning services
throughout the Russian Federation, the South East Asia
and the Middle East. In addition, Romona provides
hydrographic and seafloor imagery surveys, marine
engineering and hazard assessment surveys,
meteorological and oceanographic data collection,
processing and analysis, survey and inspection of
underwater structures and facilities, and land
surveys.

5. ECO Liston conducted a physical inspection of the
subject commodity, an optically pumped magnetometer,
model G-882. The magnetometer was crated and stored
in a locked facility with limited access. Affixed to
the magnetometer was the serial number: 882124, dated
7/7/2006. Vladimir Tarasov, Head of Survey
Department, stated that only two survey engineers
utilize the magnetometer. Tarasov stated that the
magnetometer is in full use approximately 6 months out
of the year, which is the season for this region.

6. ECO Liston advised all Romona employees present
during the PSV of the export restrictions and
condition placed upon the optically pumped
magnetometer, model G-882, under license no. D357847.

7. Recommendations: Post recommends Romona Inc.,
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia as reliable recipients of
sensitive U.S. origin commodities.
