SUBJECT: LATVIAN PARLIAMENT EXTENDS TROOP MANDATE FOR IRAQ

On December 20, Latvia's Saeima (Parliament) voted 65-21 to extend
the mandate for the country's troop presence in Iraq until December
31, 2008. Latvia currently has 3 servicemen stationed in Iraq,
serving in training and support functions. The Saeima previously
