1. (SBU) In a February 4 diplomatic note, and in response to
Post's January 31 delivery of reftel demarche, the Tunisian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that it had not yet
received an invitation from the Government of Morocco to the
Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GI) Seminar in
Rabat from February 5-7. Post's informal translation of the
MFA's diplomatic note follows.

February 4, 2008

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States
of America in Tunisia and, in reference to (the Embassy's)
diplomatic note no. 138 dated January 31, 2008, has the honor
to convey its high regard for the (USG) interest in Tunisian
participation, as an observer, in the Global Initiative to
Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GI) Seminar in Rabat from February
5 - 7, 2008.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that, until now, it has
not received an invitation to this conference and avails
itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the
United States of America the assurances of its highest
consideration.
