1. On February 28, Ambassador Perry spoke with Sierra Leone
Foreign Minister Zainab Bangura to convey information on the
Monterrey consensus and the review process. She provided the
Minister with a full text of the 2002 Monterrey consensus
document and a copy of UNGA Resolution. Minister Bangura
commented that Sierra Leone was in full accord with the
precepts of the Monterrey Consensus.

2. On March 11, DCM also followed up with the MFA Director
General, Ambassador Umaru Wurie on the same subject. Post
will continue to seek opportunities to express the U.S.
position on the Monterrey Consensus.
