well as casualties incurred.

guard was killed and three were injured in an April 5 explosion in
Akcay, Sirnak Province, attributed to the PKK. The total number of
security force casualties for the year through April 7, 2008 was 24
killed and 26 injured.

3. (U) During the same period, seven PKK terrorists were killed, ten
were captured and five surrendered. According to official TGS
website figures, through the first week of April, the number of PKK
militants killed this year was 293, the number of those captured was
80, and the number of those who surrendered was 43.
