1. (SBU) National Security Forces (NSF) commanders report
detaining 31 criminal suspects and seizing 21
stolen/unregistered vehicles in Tubas and nearby villages May
17-19. Security contacts report that PIJ spokesman Abd
al-Fatah Khzaymiah turned himself over to the PA General
Intelligence (Mukhabarat) May 18 after he learned the IDF had
been searching for him during a May 17 incursion. Of seven
PIJ militants/affiliates taken into PA custody during the
Jenin operation, all remain in custody or at a hospital under
police guard.


Multiple Israeli Incursions
in Jenin and Qabatiya

2. (SBU) Jenin security contacts and local press report four
IDF incursions into Jenin May 17-19. Early May 19, the IDF
entered Jenin Refugee Camp, arrested PIJ militant Ammar Abu
Ghalyun and detained a local imam for questioning. Security
contacts report that the IDF entered Jenin and the Refugee
camp twice May 17-18, and entered Qabatiya on May 17, taking
control of and damaging two houses before leaving without
making arrests.
