SUBJECT: GOC AND USG COMPLETE UH-1N LOAN AGREEMENT ON JUNE 19,
2008.

1. (U) The USG and GOC signed the Loan Agreement for 18 UH-1N
helicopters for the Colombian Army Aviation Brigade on June 19,
2008. NAS Bogota has engaged with Colombian Army officials to
coordinate the return of the previously grounded helicopters to
flight status. All 18 helicopters are fully mission capable and we
estimate the helicopters will become operational again on or about
June 28, 2008. We expect helicopters to deploy again in support of
JTF Omega again on or about July 5, 2008.
