REF: SECSTATE 72078 (U) Embassy London has received the following information about the HMG delegation to the 2008 UNGA: A. Prime Minister Gordon Brown will attend. He has tentative plans to attend from the evening of 24 September through the evening of 26 September. We have no information yet as to whether Sarah Brown will attend. Interpretation services will not be needed. B. N/A C. Foreign Minister David Miliband will attend, though we as yet have no information on his travel plans, or whether his wife will attend. Interpretation services will not be needed. D. At present, we know that the following officials will attend the UNGA, but do not yet have any word on their itineraries. No information is available on spouses. Interpretation services will not be needed. Those attending will include:

-- Dr. Kim Howells, Minister of State for the Middle East in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)

-- Lord Malloch-Brown, Minister for Africa, Asia and the UN in the FCO

-- Sir Mark Lyall Grant, Director General of the Political Directorate at the FCO

-- Douglas Alexander, Minister for the Department for International Development (DFID)

-- Sir Gareth Thomas, Parliamentary Undersecretary of State (DFID) Visit London's Classified Website: XXXXXXXXXXXX L
