(U) On July 23, PolOff delivered reftel summary of the
Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) workshop as a
non-paper to Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
First United Nations Division Maria Laose, who attended the
PSI workshop on behalf of Nigeria. Laose suggested that an
outreach program, similar to that conducted in Washington, be
held in West Africa to educate regional governments on the
PSI and the opportunities for collaboration it presents.
