1. (SBU) Deputy Pol/Econ Chief August 28 delivered Ref A
demarche to Masudur Rahman, Director of the Americas Wing at
Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). Rahman said
the MFA was still formulating its government's position on
these events, which he pledged to share when it was
finalized. NOTE: In response to a previous demarche on the
conflict between Russia and Georgia, Rahman opined that the
Government of Bangladesh was likely to keep "a low profile"
on this issue (Ref B). END NOTE.
