(SBU) On October 8 Econoff delivered reftel points to Kathryn
Porter, Senior Policy Advisor, Middle East Peace Process,
Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Porter advised that the GOC is totally in line with USG goals
with regard to the need for funding for Nahr al-Bared refugee
camp. Porter said that as soon as internal deliberations are
complete, the GOC will announce financial support for UNWRA's
emergency appeal and long term goals. She explained that the
GOC is engaged broadly on Palestinian issues and promotes
regional stability in Palestine and Lebanon in part by
providing capacity building assistance to the Lebanese
Palestinian Dialogue Committee.
