1. This is an action message. See paragraphs 2-4.

2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls
Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests post assistance in conducting a
pre-license check for the export of lithium batteries to
Canada. Post is requested to complete this Blue Lantern
check within 30 days. Lack of response to a Blue Lantern
check will affect pending and future licenses involving
parties to this license.

3. Reason for request: the Foreign Consignees, Pulse Inteco
and Semicom Lexis, have a limited licensing history with our
office.

4. ACTION: Please contact the Foreign End User, Canada
Department of National Defense, Electronics, Simulators and
Defense Systems, and verify its request for the exact
quantity and specific type of battery listed below. Please
also confirm the intended use of the commodity, and the
involvement of both Foreign Consignees in this transaction.
