1. (SBU) Ambassador used the opportunity of an October 16
meeting to present the President Bush -- PM Brown letter to
Gurcan Turkoglu, Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor to President
Abdullah Gul. Turkoglu, who had not yet received a copy of
the letter from the MFA, underscored the importance of food
policy and trade for Turkey, and promised to bring the letter
and the proposed Global Partnership for Agriculture and Food
to President Gul,s attention.
