1. On October 7, PolCouns delivered reftel points on AFRICOM's
start-up to Alice Kimpembe Bamba, Head of the MFA's International
Organizations Directorate. Kimpembe said that the GDRC very much
welcomed AFRICOM's establishment. She added that the GDRC shared
many of AFRICOM's priorities, including the fight against terrorism;
improving border controls; and implementing defense sector reforms.
