Portugal shares U.S. concerns about Iran's upcoming nuclear
conference as outlined in reftel and will not participate in
Iran's event. MFA Deputy Director for Disarmament and
Security Joao Lago added that Portugal's Former President
Jorge Sampaio will attend in his capacity as the UN High
Representative on the Alliance of Civilizations, but stressed
that Sampaio would not be representing Portugal in any way.
