On October 29, Post delivered reftel demarche to Mrs. Nivedita
Sohawon, First Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional
Integration and International Trade. Sohawon said that Mauritius
will not attend the International Bioethics Committee (IBC) and
Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (IGBC) meetings in Paris. She
added, however, Mauritius plans to attend the 2009 UNGA and UNESCO
general meetings and would be willing to vote toward upholding the
2005 UNGA resolution at that time.
