1. On November 7, we delivered reftel demarche via
diplomatic note to Lilian Rodriguez in the MFA's Office of
Candidacies. No substantive response was received at that
time.

2. However, on November 12, we received Dip Note
DGPE/P111-C/221-11-08, dated November 7, which announced
Costa Rica,s support for Dr. Wanda Jones as a member of the
Executive Committee of the CIM. The Note (sent to
Department), attributed the GOCR,s support to "the excellent
ties of friendship and cooperation that unite both (of our)
countries."
