SUBJECT: MALI: UNGA RESOLUTIONS WITH ANTI-ISRAEL BIAS AND
FIRST COMMITTEE DEMARCHES

REF: A. STATE 123081
B. STATE 101817

1. The Embassy delivered demarche on UNGA resolutions with
anti-Israel bias to Amadou Toure, the Deputy Director of
Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, on November 24
(Ref. A). Toure said he would pass the information on to his
superiors, but made no substantive comment beyond noting that
Mali and the U.S. were on the same "wavelength" on most
international issues. We noted that Mali was among those who
last year voted in favor of all three of the key resolutions
listed in reftel.

2. The Embassy also delivered reftel B demarche expressing
appreciation for Mali's support of the 2008 UNGA resolution
on compliance in the First Committee.
