VETTING REQUEST - ODC-002-2009

REF: JAKARTA 1958

1. (SBU) The Department of State reviewed its files and finds that,
to date, it possesses no credible information of gross violations of
human rights for the individuals identified below. These individuals
are candidates for participation in the ODC Maneuver Captain Career
Course that starts November 17, 2008 and ends June 4, 2009. The
approximate U.S. funding for this course is $48,000.

2. (U) Candidates:

AGUS HARIMURTI YUDHOYONO; CAPTAIN, COMPANY COMMANDER, 305 AIRBORNE
INFANTRY BATTALION, KAWARANG, WEST JAVA; DOB: 10 AUGUST 1978; POB:
MAGELANG, CENTRAL JAVA, INDONESIA; GENDER: MALE.

HONI HAVANA; CAPTAIN, COMPANY COMMANDER, 700 INFANTRY BATTALION,
MAKASAR, SOUTH SULAWESI; DOB: 29 MARCH 1978; POB: BLORA, CENTRAL
JAVA, INDONESIA; GENDER: MALE.

3. (U) To authorized parties: Embassy verifies that the Department of
State possesses no credible information of gross violations of human
rights by the individuals listed above, as of this date. Post may
cite this cable in response.

4. (U) If, in the future, post becomes aware of possible human rights
violations by the individuals listed above, post should inform the
Department and not proceed with training.
