Portugal agrees the international community should maintain a
united front regarding the regime in Burma per reftel points,
and is working within the EU process to achieve this. Ana
Riquito of the MFA Burma desk said she will forward the OFAC
analysis to the Portuguese MFA Sanctions Office for their
consideration, as the EU recognizes its prior sanctions
regime was unmanageable and ineffective.
