1. (SBU) This is an Action Request, please see para. 3.

2. (SBU) Following the Government of Turkey,s formal offer
of at least one frigate with air element embarked to support
counter piracy operations off the coast of Somalia, the
Department concurs with Embassy Ankara,s support for
Turkey,s request (Ref A) to be included in the Contact Group
on Somali Piracy (CGSP).

3. (SBU) Action Request: Embassy Ankara is instructed to
approach appropriate GOT officials per the instructions found
in Ref B. Post should additionally note our appreciation for
Turkey,s readiness to support the CGSP with military assets.
