1. Embassy delivered the following diplomatic notes and attachments
as requested in refs B and C to Japan's Ministry of Foreign
Affairs:

-EUR-J-2/2008: September 24, 2008
-EUR-J-4/2008: October 24, 2008

and received the following GOJ notes in reply:

-4739/DNS-IN for Case 812
-4737/DNS-IN for EUR-J-2/2008
-4738/DNS-IN for EUR-J-4/2008

2. The text of the GOJ notes are exactly the same as previously
used: standard text (ref A) except for the specification of numbers
and dates above.

3. Certified copies of the U.S. notes and attachments, and original
of the GOJ DNS-IN numbers, were pouched to the Department (ISN/NESS
- Robin DeLaBarre) December 11, 2008 under registry no. 5723912.
