1. (U) On August 26, the SIMMAD Procurement Office responded to
post's queries regarding the status of shipment requested in
reftels:

TEXT OF SIMMAD RESPONSE:

(Unofficial Embassy translation from French)

The 6 electronic components which were the object of the order cited
in your fax (attached) were purchase by the company THALES SYSTEMES
AEROPORTES from the company ELEXO via THALES order number 439438 for
the requirements of procurement number 02 82 086 "Maintenance of
THALES equipment in operational condition." We confirm that these
components were used for the repair of electronic systems aboard the
Mirage 2000 belonging to the French Government.
