(S) On September 18, EconOff delivered ref non-paper to MFA Export Control Division Desk Officer Mrs. Goeller regarding an Iranian procurement for German origin valves for use in Irans IR-40 heavy water nuclear reactor. Goeller said she would deliver the non-paper to the appropriate export control authorities at the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) and report back any findings. Post will report any substantive German response septel.
