1. (SBU) SUMMARY: France will attend the September 24 Friends
of Democratic Pakistan conference in New York, but the GOF
has not yet determined the composition of their delegation.
END SUMMARY.

2. (SBU) Post delivered the information contained in reftel
September 17 to Yann Braem, Deputy Chief of Staff for French
Special Representative for Afghanistan/Pakistan Thierry
Mariani, and MFA Pakistan Desk Officer Annie Evrard. Braem
said Mariani and Jasmine Zerinini, Mariani's chief of staff,
would probably be attending, and it was possible that Foreign
Minister Bernard Kouchner might also attend. However, the
exact composition of the delegation has not yet been
determined. He said he would provide post with the
delegation list when it is confirmed.

3. (U) Post will report directly to the POCs when the GOF has
provided its delegation list.
