1. (SBU) Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon has agreed to represent
Canada at the G-8 Broader Middle East and North Africa Forum for
the Future in Marrakech November 2-3. His staff confirmed that he
reversed an earlier decision (ref b) to send Parliamentary
Secretary for Foreign Affairs Deepak Obhrai in recognition of
Secretary Clinton's hopes that the Foreign Minister personally
attend in light of Canada's G-8 presidency.
