(SBU) In response to reftel demarche, Anne Ehrenreich, Chief
Adviser in MFA's Africa Department and head of the Horn/East
Africa Section, informed Pol-EconCouns September 30 that
Denmark is fully in support of the U.S. position, and
concerned that delay on the part of the Government of Kenya
(GOK) in allocating land for an additional camp at Dadaab
would impact the host population as well as refugees.
Establishing a new camp would "allow donors to explore
possibilities of providing funds" both for the new camp and
"to alleviate the impact on the host communities."
Ehrenreich said Denmark would convey the above points to the
GoK.
