On October 19 post delivered reftel points, diplomatic note
and aide-memoire to Margarida Figueiredo and Goncalo Motta of
the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Office of
Technical and Economic Issues, who confirmed that Portugal
will not be a candidate for the International Maritime
Organization Council in the upcoming election but had no
other substantive reply.
