(SBU) On August 28, after a previous demarche, a Mauritius
MFA representative indicated that the GOM had not yet made
a decision regarding amcit Lucretia Myers' candidacy for the
United Nations International Civil Service Commission. On
October 13, USUN Ambassador Gerald reported, via email, that
the Mauritian PermRep stated that his delegation would vote
for Myers. On October 14, the CDA verified the GOM's position
with Ambassador Patrice Cure, Head of Multilateral Directorate
- Political, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Regional
Integration and International Trade. Cure confirmed that the
GOM would support Myers' candidacy.
