Econoff followed up on November 19 with Aigars Krastins, head of the
Transportation Ministry Maritime Department, regarding the reftel
diplomatic note, which was delivered on September 29. Krastins
confirmed that Latvia will support the U.S. candidacy in Category A
of the International Maritime Organization council election.
