1. (U) In interviews with government officials (Ministry of
Health Labor and Welfare, Ministry of Justice, MOFA),
International Organizations (ILO Office in Japan, IOM Japan),
worker organizations (RENGO), and academics and NGOs involved
in Child Labor issues (JNATIP, ECPAT), Embassy Tokyo has
discovered no instances of the use of child labor in the
production of goods in Japan.
