(SBU) The Tunisian press reported that on January 25 the
Tunisian delegation to the United Nations donors meeting in
New York announced that President Ben Ali had decided to
donate $1,000,000 to the UN emergency relief fund for Haiti.
The donation was separately confirmed to us January 26 by
Hatim Landolsi, Deputy Director for the Americas Desk at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
