1. (SBU) EmbOff delivered reftel demarche to Colombian Defense
Ministry (MOD) officials on February 25. The officials responded
that export of arms from Colombia is difficult if not impossible
due to complex legal regulations. The officials also indicated
that the MOD does not currently have excess supplies of the lethal
and less-than-lethal items requested in reftel.
