Teofilus Nghitila, Director of Environmental Affairs (Ministry of
Environment and Tourism), confirmed newspaper reports that Namibia
has associated formally with the Copenhagen Accord. Namibia
reportedly is keen to "to finalize the legally binding instrument
on the long-term co-operative action and the Kyoto Protocol" and to
develop proposals for renewable energies to submit to the UNFCCC.
