7) Indonesian military tied to recent attacks 21/03/00 (Washington Post) DILI - U.N. peacekeepers have concluded that the Indonesian military has been involved in a recent spate of attacks by paramilitary units across the increasingly tense border separating newly independent East Timor from Indonesian-controlled western Timor.

8) UN Strengthens Security Along Timor Border 21/03/00 (Sydney Morning Herald) United Nations security along East Timor's 172-kilometre-long border with Indonesia has been drastically strengthened after a series of incursions by pro-Jakarta militia.

9) IOM/UNHCR: Timor Activity Update: 21 Mar 2000 22/03/00 (IOM/UNHCR) There is a continuing need to return displaced people in West Timor to their communities of origin in East Timor, in order for rehabilitation, reconstruction and development to begin. The safe and orderly return transportation of displaced people is the responsibility of IOM by agreement and in close co-operation with UNHCR.
