Israeli Troops Kill a Palestinian, Wound 12 Others, Demolish a House

GAZA - A Palestinian citizen was killed and 12 others were wounded in separate incident in Tulkarem and Rafah.

Eight Palestinian citizens were wounded, four critically, in an Israeli incursion Tuesday dawn into Rafah City, during which IOF knocked down a house, Palestinian medical and security sources indicated.

Palestinian security service in Gaza mentioned that IOF troops backed up by military jeep and D-9 bulldozers, under helicopters cover, advanced ahead from Salah Al Din barrier at the borderline with Egypt into Al Qasas area, south of Rafah City, and hailed the citizens' houses with machinegun fire.

The soldiers took up positions at a number of houses in the area, among are two houses owned by Abu Shaqfa and Abu Libda families as well as they demolished the houses of the citizen Naím Abu Anza, the same sources added.

Khaddar Abu Thiab, 21, was shot dead and four others were moderately wounded during the Israeli incursion Monday into Tulkarem refugee camp, IPC correspondent reported.

Palestinian medical sources told IPC Correspondent that a contingent of Israeli soldiers ambushed Abu Thiab in front of his home Monday noon and gunned him down by several live bullets in the stomach, head, neck and chest.

In two separate incidents, two Palestinians were wounded, one critically, when the Israeli occupying soldiers opened a burst of machinegun fire towards a company of youngster demonstrators who hurled stones at the Israeli soldiers in Burqa Village of Nablus, IPC correspondent reported.

Two others were also wounded in Al Tira Al Shamalia village of Jenin City, which is still under strict curfew for five days in a row, the same sources added.

Haider Duglus, a student of Al Najeh National University, told IPC correspondent that a contingent of Israel troops invaded the village at 10:00 pm and opened fire at a company of youngsters, wounding Khaled Duglus, in the thigh, Samer Heja ,19, and Jameel Seif,19, whom has been crucified then shot with three live bullets in the hand and feet.

The chief of the rural council of Ossrin said that the Israeli soldiers invaded the village overnight and arrested seven Palestinian citizens.

Earlier, Israeli troops invaded the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarem City and its refugee camp under a barrage of indiscriminate fire and stun grenades, WAFA said.

Locals said a column of military jeeps stationed at the southern entrance of the camp and blockaded the citizens as gunshots were pointed at them, at a time that was concurrent with the school students’ return back to their homes, terrorizing the students and creating a state of chaos.

Hours after, the Israeli troops pulled back from the camp and redeployed along Nablus road, hindering Palestinian traffic for more than half an hour before pulling to the entrances of Tulkarem City, witnesses said.

At the same time, the Israeli occupying forces sealed off Al Kufryat road and denied the citizens entrance from the southern villages to reach Tulkarem.

Meanwhile, three Palestinian activists, including a key leader of the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) were arrested by the Israeli occupying forces in Tulkarem City, north of West Bank, Palestinian security sources said.

The same sources named one of the arrested as Nayef Jarad, a senior political figure in PFLP.

In Jenin, the Israeli occupation forces reinforced their presence at the vicinity of Jenin City, erected military checkpoints at the main and alternative roads and carried out a search in the passing Palestinian vehicles, WAFA said.

Witnesses mentioned that an Israeli tank positioned near Al Basha Well, south Jenin City while soldiers fully vetted citizens' ID’s and forcedly dragged them away of the cars under the pretext of search.

In Hebron, another swath of land owned by the citizen Abed Al Majeed al tumaizi from Ethna Town of Hebron was also razed by the Israeli military bulldozers, WAFA news agency said.

The governor of Hebron, Areef Al Ja’bri, indicated that the Israeli occupying forces leveled the aforementioned land, which sits on the crossroad of Ethna –Tarqomia.

He added that the abovementioned land was razed as a prelude to establish an Israeli military watchtower in the adjacent area.
