Centenary Celebrations at Sacred Heart Visale

Sacred Heart Parish, Visale commenced their centenary celebrations with a Eucharistic Celebration at 9.15am, on 18th January, 2004.

Raymond Kapini, chairman of the Parish Pastoral council, hopes that the celebrations will increase the faith of the people and that they will come together to assist in education and health. He is also full of praise to the many who have labored in Visale and hopes that through the media they are aware of the event and all that is happening.

"It's an important occasion to recall 'Moments of Grace' - development and growth that have made Visale the place is it today", stated Kanuto Kobi, head catechist.

The St. Peter Channel Kusika youth lead the entrance procession while the Veravoulu youth put up a harmonious dance at the conclusion of the Service.

In his homily at the celebration, Archbishop Adrian Smith sm, Archbishop of Honiara asked the people to reflect on the fact of the people being not only - Weapons free, but Marijuana free, Sol brew free and leading a life of right relationships. He said that our life as Christians needs to be based on Love and being faithful to the Gospel.

Feasting and items were put up in the afternoon.
