ISM To Join Hunger Strike in Soldarity

Saturday, August 28: International Solidarity Movement Joins Hunger Strike in Soldarity

Monday, August 30: World Wide Hunger Strike and Protests

Activists of International Solidarity Movement, (ISM), in the West Bank are joining the National Islamic Forces and the Palestinian Political Prisoners Club in a hunger strike Saturday, August 28, to support the Palestinian Political Prisoners Hunger Strike that began August 15, 2004.

Monday, August 30, national and international organizations and groups will be declaring a one-day hunger strike as the Palestinian hunger strike enters it's third week. There will be demonstrations in front of Israeli Embassies, Government Buildings and other locations around the world.

The August 30 day of hunger strike will follow two days of declared hunger strike by Al-Awda in North America.

Solidarity hunger strikers will be present at the solidarity tents throughout the region. Palestinian Political Prisoners began an open-ended hunger strike Sunday, August 15. They have a list of demands for fair and humane treatment in Israeli prisons defined under international law, Israeli law and Israeli prison regulations. They are demanding that abuse of prisoners and their families ends immediately.
