New York, Jun 19 2005 10:00PM

A senior delegation of United Nations and donor country officials held talks in Baghdad this weekend on coordinating assistance to Iraq as well as the country's development priorities, the UN mission there (UNAMI) said today.

UN Envoy Ashraf Qazi met Saturday with Iraq's Minister of Planning, Barham Saleh, along with the ambassadors of the United States, Denmark, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland and other countries.

Mr. Qazi and the donor representatives discussed the coordination of international assistance and the way forward for organizing national development priorities in Iraq, according to UNAMI. Participants agreed that these matters are crucial aspects of preparations for the International Conference on Iraq, to be held in Brussels on 22 June.
