Assault on flight to America Samoa

Flight to America Samoa forced to return to Honolulu after assault on plane

A passenger on board last night’s Hawaiian Air flight from Honolulu to America Samoa is reported to have punched a flight attendant forcing the plane to return to Honolulu.

As a result Hawaiian Air’s arrival in the US territory was delayed for more than 2 hours.

Airline sources say that federal agents were waiting for the aircraft when it returned to Honolulu airport and promptly arrested the male passenger.

The suspect described as unstable was traveling to America Samoa for a funeral.

It was not known how long after the flight departed Honolulu that the incident occurred.
