Da Vinci Code movie draws crowds in American Samoa

The general manager of American Samoa’s cinema says the turnout of people coming to see the Da Vinci Code movie has been high during the film’s run.

Robert Vernon was assaulted last month in a bid to thwart the screening of the film which is based on a three year old novel.

Mr Vernon says since then he has experienced no trouble from religious groups or cinema goers.

“Everything has been actually just the opposite, it’s been very good received, I’ve had people apologise and I’ve had gifts given to me and it’s just been very good. People have been very outstanding and understanding.”

Robert Vernon, general manager of Nu’uuli Place Cinema.
